To know the love of Christ, which passes all knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19
That was a verse I read today in my study time. Have you read it before? Reading it inspired me. We have an emptiness in our being before we accept Christ as our Savior and our sacrifice. He takes our place. Kind of like the idea behind the story ‘the Prince and the Pauper’ except at the end of the adventure – the change isn’t undone. Jesus restores us and we’re in the family.
The thing I wanted to bring out about the scripture is that it tells us to “know” Jesus Christ’s love for us…it didn’t say work on our love for Him. Rather, it is when we think about and mull over His love for us that our own hearts are filled with a love beyond what we can normally comprehend. (Don’t tell me God isn’t a romantic. After all, His very name means love. ) And when we focus on Christ’s love for us we are then filled with ‘all the fullness of God’. I look forward to seeing what that means.
I hope my thoughts from my morning devo(tional) were enlightening and as encouraging to you as they were to me.
I leave you with a song: The Father’s Song
